Have the GB wised up to the dangers of e readers yet?

just trying out the new kindle myself and i realised that with its password protected facility, it would be possible to download all manner of forbidden books and magazines without the elders or jw parents knowing.. .

i'm surprised there hasn't been dire warnings issued about this yet?

or have the gb yet to hear about e readers?.

Do you believe in hell?

i can't personally say that i do believe or the even the bible for that matter, but i can't see how someone could believe this.

you don't live the way you are supposed to live and believe in jesus, etc for like 70-80 years, but you have to suffer forever and ever for stuff you did during one short lifetime.i was doing some looking on google and one guy made a bunch of good points against the idea of hell and one being why would god resurrect the righteous from heaven and especiall hell then just throw them back in?

what do you guys think?.

We've got a handful of people in the congregation that use their Ipads openly from their seats. Can't do it on the platform per a recent letter though.

I like the fact that a JW can download a copy of Ray Franz's books, or Carl Olof Jonsson's books amongst others without actually having a physical copy to keep hidden. One can have a gangload of apostate material on their device unbeknownst to anyone else. It definately makes it easier to research TTATT on the low. Couldn't imagine someone visiting my pad and going, "what an impressive book collection. What's this one, Crisis of Conscience about?" "Oh nothing, nothing at all."

Believe it or not, another brief elder encounter yesterday...

it was another elder from my judicial committee, came up to me after i'd strapped my daughter into the car.

two things that struck me as different were (1) he didn't feel a need to bring a second elder along with him as if something that required two witnesses was going to be said by someone who'd been df'd for two years and 99.9% absent from meetings as well, and (2) he actually seemed genuinely friendly.

he simply asked if i was planning to come to the meetings again anytime soon.

It makes it hard to say no to someone like that--and I guess being a born-in I generally find it hard to say no to people even when I'm getting screwed royally.

I wonder how many born-ins can relate to this, I know I can. The WT has even printed articles about saying no to privileges when one is already has far too much on their plate. It's like Frankenstein, they've created a monster in the form of born-ins inability to say no. Stabbed myself over with more pains from an inability to say no than from chasing after $$$.
